If you want to help collect non-perishable items, please go to www.500turkeys.com/donate and click on food collection. Food drop off is ONLY on November 7th at Valparaiso Nazarene Church from 10a-2pm Door #4.
All donated food is scheduled to be dropped off at our host church from 10a-2pm. Volunteers should sign up at www.500turkeys.com/volunteer and arrive by 9:30am.
We will be following all covid safety regulations.
This one day food drive will give us and the community the opportunity to collect the last minute items we need. Join us as you shop for your Thanksgiving needs or to volunteer. www.500turkeys.com/volunteer
Food drop off is a fun event where all 40,000 (estimated) collected food items get dropped off, sorted and counted. The community collects the food. If our counts are short, we will collect those items at the food drive on the following week. You can sign up to volunteer but if it is full, put yourself on the waiting list incase someone cancels. Box Packing takes place over 2 evenings. All non-perishable food items will be pre-packaged into 1400+ boxes for more efficient distribution the next weekend. This year, we will not be organizing clothing. We do that at a different location now.
For safety reasons, we will again ask for only adult volunteers. Sign ups to volunteer and more info about exact times and ages will be available at least 3 weeks before the event on our web site 500turkeys.com/volunteer .
